A real treat for families and friends
A horse drawn wagon ride is one of the best ways to experience Elk Country! Along the way, your wagon master will share helpful information about our elk population, the Elk Country Visitor Center facility, and the Pennsylvania Wilds environment.
Horse Drawn Wagon rides with the Keystone Elk Country Alliance typically take place at the Elk Country Visitor Center on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings starting the beginning of July and running through the end of October–weather permitting and when we are able. Times vary due to change in daylight. This ride does not guarantee that you will see the elk, as they are free roaming.
Reservations: We start taking reservations one day prior starting at 8am EXCEPT during the Elk Expo weekend and Columbus Day weekend, which reservations are the day of in person only. Tickets are available at the front desk. You can call guest relations at 814-787-5167 to reserve your seat, but be aware: during September and October there is a line at our door when we open, and we do take those reservations first before we answer the phone. If you choose to call, you need to speak to someone in guest relations- leaving a message does not count as a reservation. We have our own private rides for our events at which time public rides will not be available.
Children under 10- $6
Children under 12 months- FREE
**Please keep in mind that our Guest Relations Coordinators do their best to accommodate everyone–however, seating is limited and the demand for wagon rides during the fall season is high. Please be considerate if you are unable to get on a ride because it is already full. Thank you!
Wagon Ride Policy:
If you reserve seating on our wagon ride, you must be here 30 minutes prior to your ride time in order to check in and pay for your ride. You must be at the designated loading area 15 minutes prior to your ride time. If you are not present and accounted for at the above times, we reserve the right to open your seat(s) up to on-hand guests. During peak season of Sept/Oct you will want to plan to arrive one hour in advance due to high traffic. Thank you.
