A real treat for families and friends
A horse drawn wagon ride is one of the best ways to experience Elk Country! Along the way, your wagon master will share helpful information about our elk population, the Elk Country Visitor Center facility, and the Pennsylvania Wilds environment.
Horse Drawn Wagon rides with the Keystone Elk Country Alliance will typically take place at the center on Saturdays and Sundays from Memorial Day Weekend until Halloween–weather permitting and when we are able. We currently allow our guests to be in line at the Visitor Center (handled first) or call 814-787-5167 the day prior beginning at 8am to reserve one of the ‘limited’ seats the next day’s wagon. Seats are limited and will fill quickly, usually by 8:15am. No reservations are accepted in advance on (Columbus Day and Elk Expo weekends) If reserving seats via phone, your seats can only be reserved if you have spoken to a Guest Relations Coordinator. Tickets are available at the front desk. (We do have our own private rides for our events at which time public rides will not be available).
Please keep in mind that our Guest Relations Coordinators do their best to accommodate everyone–however, seating is limited and the demand for wagon rides during the fall season is high. Please be considerate if you are unable to get on a ride because it is already full. Thank you!
Wagon Ride Policy:
If you reserve seating on our wagon ride, you must be here 30 minutes prior to your ride time in order to check in and pay for your ride. You must be at the designated loading area 15 minutes prior to your ride time. If you are not present and accounted for at the above times, we reserve the right to open your seat(s) up to on-hand guests. During peak season of Sept/Oct you will want to plan to arrive one hour in advance due to high traffic. Thank you.
