The Elk Country Visitor Center can be a powerful educational tool. Teachers and others are encouraged to contact us to plan an educational visit and to arrange group tours or presentations.
The Visitor Center features state-of-the-art interpretive and interactive exhibits designed to educate visitors about elk and the surrounding environment, wildlife conservation and green building design. The Center offers meeting space specifically designed to support school and other programming. Our staff and volunteers are available to help plan and support your group visit.
Distance Learning - Utilizing the unique marriage of the latest technology with hands-on, “physical” learning, our conservation education video conferencing experience for students continues to expand across Pennsylvania and beyond as more and more school districts and teachers become aware of this amazing learning opportunity. A large "Elk Traveling Trunk" is sent to each participating school with lots of hands-on props to be discussed and handled during this multi-sensory learning adventure. No other distance learning program offers this tactile interactive experience.
